ABSTRACT
This paper concerns the rising donors of development aid. These states play an
increasingly significant role in international development aid, with the PRC being
undoubtedly one of the most important among them. The purpose of this paper is to
analyse development aid, in particular its role in state policy and its consequences
for international development cooperation. The paper describes the most important
terminological aspects, roots, evolution and the current objectives of the Chinese
aid program, its importance for foreign and economic policy and its influence on
other participants in development cooperation.
